So much has happend in this short amount of time. Brendan is growing up so fast and so many things have changed. Some time before Christmas, Jordan started thinking about going back to school. After a long proccess of decission making and applying to Law Schools he was accepted into the LSU School of Law in Baton Rouge, LA and the SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Tx. Ultimately we decided that SMU was the right decision. Everything has fallen into place so quickly, it seems. God has given us so much favor in every way. Jordan will be attending the night school and I will be working in the bakery at Whole Foods Market (once again) during the day... which means Brendan will not have to go to day care. We will probably look into a Kids Day Out program just so that he can be around other children a little bit.
So, that is a short paragraph, but I asure you it was a lot more work getting us to Dallas.
Jordan and I have were both very involved at our church in Texarkana. I was the children's ministry dirrector and Events Coordinator. Jordan played violin on the Worship Team and served on the Finance Comittee. Before we could leave we had to get through VBS, Camp, and reorganizing the church's finances. Our church had been without a pastor for about two years. Fortunately, before we had to break the news about leaving, God brought an awesome pastor along. That helped our transition tremendously. In the mean time we also had to sell our house (which we did "By Owner"), find an appartment, move half of our stuff to Shreveport (to store at Jordan's parent's house), move the other half of our stuff to Dallas, and Jordan had to train his replacement for Windstream.
All I can say is that we couldn't have done it without all of our wonderful family and friends! So, here is a special THANK YOU:
To Pastor Jason and Tiffany for waching Brendan so I could pack and for giving us all of those moving boxes!
To Tom and Elizabeth for driving to Texarkana, renting a Uhaul, helping us move half of our belongings to Shreveport, and letting us use one of your rooms as a storage unit!
To Alton for driving all the way to Texarkana, waiting for us to locate the truck that Uhaul "reserved" for us, helping us load the second half of our belongings, and driving to Dallas to help us unload into our new appartment.
To Dale and Sherry for driving to Dallas to meet us... for waiting... and waiting for us to get there to help us unload everything into the appartment (I'm pretty sure it took us about 4 hours to get everything into that truck, and about 45 min. to get it all out!!), and for having Brendan and I stay with you in Lubbock while Jordan finished his last week of work in Texarkana.
To Dave and Charlotte for opening your home to us as Jordan finished at Windstream and so that we could be there for Bria's shower and our last Sunday at Cross Pointe.
To David and Bria for helping us load the truck in Texarkana (David, not Bria, obviously pregnancy is a "get out of moving free card") and for loaning us the pack 'n' play for Brendan.
To Cross Pointe for the love you've shown us for the past two years and for the generous gift you gave.
You have all been so generous! We love you and apreciate all that you've done!
This blog would not really be a "Mary Blog" with out some pictures, so here is the last eight months in pictures:
