Lovely March (2011)

When reading this blog, keep in mind that I started writing it at the end of March:

What a wonderful month this has been!! The weather really hasn't made up its mind, but when it is nice... we are outside! I have to say that Dallas has provided so many opportunities for adventure that we have probably gone a little overboard. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that we were pinned up in our apartment with a two year old all winter and have now seized every chance to get out. March also seems to have been the month of visits from best friends.
I usually have pictures to go along with everything, but somehow I missed quite a few. Ricky (my "adopted" brother), Sara (his wife), and their children were the first to visit. We met them at the Fort Worth Zoo. It was a quick visit, but we have missed them and enjoyed every minute!

Ruth (one of my bff's from Lubbock), Parker (her son), and Connie (her mother) were next. They were here for a short vacation... so I squeezed myself into their schedule too (Brendan was with my parents in Lubbock for the week and Jordan was studying).

Jordan had flown to Lubbock to drop B off with my parents for a week (so he could have some study time). So, when the week was over, I got to fly to Lubbock to spend some time with my dad for his birthday... and then fly back to Dallas with my mom and Brendan. My mom spent several days here and we got to go to the Dallas Arboretum! It was SO beautiful (there are tons of pics on Facebook of this event). My mother, being the generous woman that she is, bought a membership for us for the year. We have already been back several times... and we can take friends for free too... so if you live here (and you are a friend) and would like to go, let us know!

Randomly, by some amazing blessing from God, Carissa and Jon
athan (two of our friends that we knew from Texarkana) moved to the Dallas area. They had been way up north, so we were pleasantly surprised that they chose to move so close!

Last weekend David, Bria, and baby Jude (our best friends from Texarkana) came to visit!! We had a full day of all kinds of fun adventures with them. First, we ate at a pl
ace called Desperados (which I highly recommend). Next we went to the Dallas Aquarium. It was quite busy... and by that I mean PACKED to the gills (see, that makes since because we were at an aquarium. Haha). We still had a great time... after Brendan decided that he would be more comfortable riding in Jude's stroller. Fortunately Jude shares well and was content to be passed between the four of us. It was about 4:30 by the time we left, which meant that the Arboretum was open for 30 more minutes. We all got in free, so it was quite worth every minute that we used to quickly make our way through the highlights. Everyone was hungry for dinner after that, so we decided on Pei Wei... so good! The Whole Foods that I work at is right across the parking lot from Pei Wei, so the Howe's got to check that out before heading back to Texarkana. We all had a great time. It was really cool to see Jude, he is getting so big already... and he is such a good baby! B was a little jealous, but he was still sweet.

In other news:

As part of my Stop Being Lazy goals I decided to start sewing. This is a pic of my first project. There have been about a half dozen others since then.

Here is B with his Monkey Backpack... that he LOVES.
