March was a great month for our family. For me, it was the month in which I completed and turned in my Graded Appellate Brief at SMU Dedman School of Law. All told, it involved 150+ hours of work, $50 at Kinko's (I had to re-publish all four copies of it when I found a typo), and $50 at Starbuck's. Shortly thereafter, I signed up and was accepted to a 10 week public service legal internship with Legal Aid over the summer.
Mary continues to exhibit her genius in cupcake arts at Whole Foods. She and I have spent extensive time throwing around ideas for our own restaurant concept. We would, of course, involve my former business partner Chris Whitlock, though we'd have to steal him and his wife from Slidell, LA. Any time you go into business with someone you learn their true character, and Chris's character shone in our last endeavor. Mary is incredibly talented, and neither Chris nor I have any doubt that any enterprise built around her talents would be wildly successful.
Our church, the Upper Room, is a sustaining blessing. Pastor Michael Miller and Prophet Michael Miller (yes, same name) seem to blow our minds and cheer our spirits each and every time we attend. It is hard to not get more involved, though I am constantly reminded that each thing has its season. Their vision for the Upper Room and even Urban Dog Coffee is definitely something we want to support.
Mary and I enjoyed visits from Nana, who introduced us to the Dallas Arboretum (and bought us a membership - thank you so much!); from the Long family, who introduced us to the Fort Worth Zoo; and from the Howes, who we introduced to the Dallas Aquarium. We adore our friends and our city very much. If you're reading this, it's likely we would love for you to visit.
Brendan seems to add a new "feature" every day. In March he achieved landmarks in the potty-training area and added a slew of new words to his vocabulary. His gastronomic horizons were expanded to include quesadillas and soft tacos at Taco Bueno. Also, his foot seems to grow an inch per week, as he went from a size 7 to a 9 in one month's time!!!
Well, I must get back to studying. To family and friends, I hope you are well.
Sincerely,
Jordan

I had to reset my password because I could not login here to find this blog. I was just looking at Mary's pics on facebook and seeing how much Brendan has grown and thought... I remember reading this blog before he was even born!
